Saranac Chain of Lakes, showing Village of Saranac Lake. All lakes in photo, except pond in foreground, are interconnected and navigable. Star marks Kiwassa Camp.

The camp is located on Kiwassa Lake in the tri-lakes region of Saranac Lake, Lake Placid and Tupper Lake in the central Adirondacks. It is two miles from the Village of Saranac Lake, 11 miles from Lake Placid and 25 miles from Tupper Lake. The lake is part of a beautiful chain of wilderness rivers and lakes connected by State-operated locks. You can explore for miles by canoe or motor boat (available locally for rent) through this unique waterway that traverses the wilderness of Adirondack State Park.

Adirondack Airport, located thirty minutes away, has multiple daily non-stop flights from Boston and full services for private aircraft.  Car rental and taxi service is available.

New York's Adirondack State Park is the largest park in the country outside of Alaska.  The six million acre park includes large tracts of forever-wild wilderness lands that have remained untouched since the 1880's and support a vast ecosystem of plants and wildlife.

Come fish from the dock or the camp rowboat for bass, pike, and sunfish. Climb to the top of Mt. Ampersand (your view across the lake from the camp) or other nearby peaks, large and small.  Explore nearby Lake Placid, site of the 1980 Olympic venues.  Window shop along the streets of these unique villages for fine art, antiques and gifts and dine in any of the fine and varied restaurants.  Visit the Visitor Interpretive Center at Paul Smiths College for natural and regional history or find some of the best golf in the Northeast.  Easy to find, wonderful to enjoy and perfect for doing as little or as much as you like.  Try Kiwassa Camp.
